In autumn, the Mentoring project was launched in Kuban, the main task of which is to support beginning and existing entrepreneurs interested in developing their own business.
The program consists of three streams and will last until the end of the year. This year, 150 mentors are involved in the project — they will help 250 participants with the development of their business.
Mentoring has long established itself as one of the most effective forms of support for small and medium-sized businesses. About how the project works in the Kuban and how it is useful for businessmen-in the material of the portal .

“Mentors form a community around themselves with similar values”
A mentor is a successful and objective businessman who offers his unique life and business experience to solve many problems that any entrepreneur or startup faces on the way to creating or developing his company. A mentor can help with various tasks: from analyzing a business model to preparing a program to stimulate growth.
As part of the project, mentors hold ten weekly meetings with each of the mentors. Meetings are held both offline and online — everyone chooses the most convenient format for themselves. Within the framework of the project, an experienced adviser is available for consultations on a daily basis.
The Mentoring project is implemented within the framework of the federal project “PopulMove to Trasharization of Entrepreneurship” with the support of the Department of Investment and Development of Small and medium-sized Businesses of the Krasnodar Territory and the regional Business Development Fund.
A small business with a lot of support:
The organizers are sure that mentoring is not only a public recognition of a businessman as an expert in his field of activity, but also his significant contribution to the future of the region: “In addition to the opportunity to share their unique experience and become a personal example, mentors get new ideas and a fresh look at their own business processes, as well as form a community of caring people with similar values in the business world around them”.
“Participation in the project is like a two-way road”
This year, among the mentors is Alexander Polidi, a well-known business consultant, Doctor of Economics and Honored Economist of Kuban. In the first two streams of the project, he received four mentors and holds personal meetings with each of them.
“I became a mentor because, firstly, this is a very interesting project. And secondly, working with business is my bread. This format makes it possible not only to share existing experience, but also to get something new from their wards who are looking for solutions for a variety of diverse and multifaceted business tasks. It turns out that participation in the project is like a two-way road”,- said Alexander Polidi.
Among his main functions, the mentor calls determining the needs of the business owner and structuring the tasks facing him. According to him, he performs the role of an expert and analyst, and also gives the mentees the opportunity to look at themselves and their business from the outside.
The economist gave an example of his first mentor, with whom six meetings have already taken place [на момент подготовки статьи — Юга.ру]. A novice businessman asked for the help of a mentor with a project, and since the first session, he has undergone serious changes in terms of the format and method of promoting the product on the market: “I see serious progress in understanding the risks and a more sober assessment of the situation. Often, when we are alone with ourselves and our business, we underestimate these risks. But the person managed to see the situation from the outside, and now we are looking for solutions together”.
“With a mentor, I make discoveries that I can’t think of myself”
The founder of the author’s tours project, Yulia Chitalova, came to the Mentoring project as a mentor. Now she has a main job, but in the future she plans to fully devote herself to her business: “I decided to seek the help of a mentor, because I have absolutely no experience in running a business. I am not an entrepreneur, I only have a creative component. In addition, there are no people near me who could share knowledge or give good advice”.
According to the novice entrepreneur, the mentor gives her a lot of useful recommendations on various points, structures her activities, suggests what and how best to do. While participating in the project, Yulia decided to quit her job in order not to delay immersion in her business — the mentor reacted very flexibly to the change of priorities and offered her a more intensive business launch program.
“This is a serious support, which was not enough to start your own business”
The creator of her own brand of home clothing, Olga Butko, has already completed half of the course with her mentor: “The most difficult thing for me was to take the first step in creating a brand for sewing pajamas and home clothes. And under the sensitive mentoring, I managed to focus on specific tasks and act. It is very motivating when the owner of a successful business discusses your project, gives advice, and at the same time has the opportunity to ask questions. For me, this is a serious support, which was not enough to start my own business”.
Olga and her mentor devoted the first half of the program to the product creation stage, the second half will focus on sales. Thus, while participating in the project, a novice entrepreneur will have time to release a collection, make a photo shoot, conduct an advertising campaign, start interacting with customers and send orders. At the same time, existing customers will not count.
From idea to sales:
Olga said that she and her mentor had an agreement about achieving their goals: if she sends the collection to the middle of the project, she will receive a cake from him: “And I did it — the first batch of cozy women’s pajamas was ready by the deadline. I used to sometimes hear that I would not succeed, but here, in the project, they congratulate me even on the first successful step. It was great, and I was very lucky to have a mentor! It is very interesting what will be achieved at the end of the program”.
In November, the third stream of the Mentoring project will start. Participation is free — just fill out the application form on the website. In the final of the program, competitions with awarding of winners are provided for mentors, and for the most active mentors — the presentation of letters of thanks from the Department of investment and development of small and medium-sized enterprises of the Krasnodar Territory.
